18A. Describe the mission/purpose of your proposed gTLD.

Crown’s customers and employees represent a global environment.  The gTLD will allow us to create new resources for each of these groups.  Through our Insite products our customers can view information hosted in New Bremen, OH that is downloaded from their equipment.  That information is combined with additional information from various Crown systems.  In addition we are in the process of equipping our global service engineers, almost 2,000, with tablets.  They would be able to use a .crown community to share tips, view manuals and perform other critical functions.  For our global customers we want to avoid confusion with the existing gTLD’s and point them to .crown.

18B. How do you expect that your proposed gTLD will benefit registrants, Internet users, and others?

i Crown will use .crown to enhance our reputation as the leader in the lift truck industry.  We have specialized in technological innovation and will use this gTLD as a means to further build on this reputation.

ii We anticipate that the creation of .crown will help avoid confusion associated with the various domain names and extensions currently in place.  We want to have one place for our community to visit.

iii Crown wants a simple and elegant user experience.

iv Customers, employees, and any user of .crown will need to register prior to use.  All usage will be governed by appropriate local law.  Our privacy policy will remain the same, as it has for ten years.

v  Crown strives to respect the privacy of all data we come in contact with during the course of our business.  As previously referenced our privacy policy has remained unchanged for over ten years:

Crown Privacy Policy

Crown respects your right to privacy. Any information we obtain through your use of Crown.com will be kept within Crown Equipment Corporation. We will not sell or share information about you or your account unless you request us to do so. We make every effort to only ask for information that is germane to your doing business with Crown. If you are uncomfortable with providing a piece of information to us, please let us know via e-mail.

18C. What operating rules will you adopt to eliminate or minimize social costs (e.g., time or financial resource costs, as well as various types of consumer vulnerabilities)? What other steps will you take to minimize negative consequences/costs imposed upon consumers?

i  Our intent is to use a first come⁄first basis.

ii None

iii We do not plan on making contractual commitments.
